Requirements

Client is seeking Whitebox Manual Tester to work in their testing group. Need to have experience using White Box testing (system), Unix, Oracle Database, scripting and batch experience. Unix experience is important because they have about 100 batches that need regression. Ability to write SQL queries and complex joins is very important because they write a lot of queries in this environment. Need to have data integrity testing working with query analyzer. Must be able to think independently and get the job done. Must be a back end tester not gui. This is a 6 month to 12 month contract with the option to hire. This Online Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for testing assigned application functionality during system, integration, and regression testing phases utilizing best practices in software testing methodology. This individual will work closely with a Test Team Lead to communicate and resolve application issues. Requires experience testing Internet and distributed applications. Proficiency in testing web applications, web services, customer service and distribution center applications. The position requires knowledge of quality assurance testing, software testing methodologies, and industry standard best practices. Must have experience with backend system testing that is Unix based. They must be able to manipulate batches in the Unix environment. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Test case definition and documentation, manual/automated test execution, and issue reporting. 2. Interface with development teams to report bugs and track issues until resolution. 3. Gain a surpassing knowledge of responsible area, plus provide general support for other areas Intermediate test case development skills that transforms business requirements into measurable and testable scenarios. Possessing knowledge greater than what is documented in the requirements and able to see from a detailed perspective additional areas that may need to be tested as a result of the proposed requirement or change. Test execution skills in an enterprise web application environment, to include the ability to create and execute the following test types in accordance with industry best practices: Release Acceptance Testing (RAS), Functional Acceptance Simple Testing (FAST), Task-Oriented Functional Testing (TOFT), Forced Error Testing, System-Level Testing, and Regression Testing Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) Typically requires Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems management and/or related curriculum.
