Sr. Software Tester / QA - State Illinois City Chicago

Sr. Software Tester / QA - OVERVIEW Centro, the most comprehensive provider of local interactive media and technology services, is experiencing rapid growth and is seeking software testers / QA employees at all levels. As part of Centro’s Technology team, an employee in this position will be working with members of the Software Development and Product Development teams to further develop the next generation platform for online media planning and buying. We use an agile development methodology and rely primarily on free and open-source software such as Ruby/Rails, Linux, PostgreSQL, Apache, etc. As a company, we take great pride in working to fulfill the Corporate Manifesto (http://www.centro.net/who_we_are/corporate_manifesto.php) and expect all new employees to do the same. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES • Contribute to the entire software development life cycle from initial business requirements to deployment & production support, in a very fast paced, agile environment • Work with the Product Development and Software Development teams to define acceptance criteria • Design and implement test scenarios and test cases • Create and implement test plans and test scripts with focus on automation • Participate in all technical testing efforts including integration testing & performance testing • Ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are met • Provide support of software products by investigating and recreating reported defects • Participate in defect triage and defect forensics • Train and mentor other analysts in testing methodology and the software development life cycle • Assist in implementation of QA standards and continual improvement activities • Become very familiar with media-related technologies such as ad serving and campaign management systems including DART, Atlas DMT, Open AdStream, Mediaplex, etc. • Provide professional customer service to users of Centro technology, as required • Personal and professional growth QUALIFICATIONS Experience and Technical Skills: • 5+ years of experience of quality assurance and testing software • Experience as part of an agile team is a big plus • Good understanding of software testing planning • Excellent abilities to define scenarios, test plans and test cases • Ability to script tests for automation • Deep understanding of testing web-based products • Good understanding of relational databases • Ability to function well in an free / open-source technology environment • Software development experience is a plus • Ability to read and understand Ruby/Rails is a definite plus Personal: • Exceptional Character • Integrity • Impeccable business ethic • Dedication to going the extra mile • Team-oriented • Entrepreneurial spirit • Self-motivated, honest, with a strong sense of accountability • Unselfish • Active problem solving capabilities • EDUCATION Computer Science, Computer Engineering preferred, others will be considered Interested?
