Quality Assurance Engineer - Boston, MA

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer on behalf of our client, Fidelity Investments. This position is based in Boston, MA. Summary A quality assurance engineer works with business analysts and program developers to design, develop and execute test plans to ensure that new and enhanced applications will satisfy business requirements. Develop Test Plans, Test Cases and perform Tests to software changes intended to maintain and enhance the Customer Warehousing Environment. Responsibilities • Critically read requirements specifications and provide feedback to the author regarding testability, clarity, consistency and conciseness of the requirements. This requires an understanding of the requirements process as the major input to the Test Phase. • Evaluate, assess and report on the quality of the software in support of all Retail Marketing CRM initiatives. • Test new features and initiatives as required • Ensure new feature quality in order to preserve service level agreements for system availability • Coordinate with business units to understand the requested change \ addition • Implement and maintain industry standard best practices for test documentation and conduct • Develop processes and procedures that add efficiency to the operations and support of the CWE and future software modifications Qualifications • UNIX — 5-7 years • Relational Database (Oracle a plus) — 5-7 years • Unix Scripting — 5-7 years Korn Shell is preferred. Perl, Csh, and others are a plus • SQL — 5-7 years • C/C++ - ability to read • Informatica or other ETL tool a plus • Java - ability to read • HTML — ability to understand • Good business writing and reporting skills • Good interpersonal and communication skills • Excellent software testing skills with the ability to find and help diagnose bugs • Proven ability to work on multiple concurrent projects • Prior experience with DB conversions and/or database warehouse projects Please submit resumes to kate.alexander@veritude.com.
