Position Description Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to establishment guidelines. Writes, revises, and verifies quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation to ascertain quality of software. Reviews new or modified program, including documentation, diagram, and flowchart, to determine if program will perform according to user request and conform to guidelines. Tests program for validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to establishment standards. May identify differences between establishment standards and user applications and suggest modifications to conform to standards. May conduct compatibility tests with vendor-provided programs Minimum Requirements • 4+ years of testing experience working in a formal application development environment with an established SDLC and defect life cycle. • 4+ years Experience in all phases of functional, regression, acceptance and performance testing. • Experience using the Mercury testing suite including Quality Center, Quick Test Pro, and LoadRunner. Additional Knowledge & Skills • Strong analytical/problem solving experience to deal with complex business problems. • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and multi-task to meet critical deliverable dates. • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills. • Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills. • Must be a detail oriented, analytical and an independent thinker. • Must strive for results. • Experience with formal change management processes and tools. • Experience with formal configuration management processes and tools. • Experience with CMMi and Six Sigma. • Health-care experience is a plus. Technical Skills • Experience with relational database analysis/development. • Experience with SQL • Ability to interpret and understand database schemas to ensure database integrity. • Testing experience with Oracle database, Oracle Forms, PL/SQL, and UNIX • Experience working with XML and EDI files. • Testing experience with web based applications, J2EE, and SOA platform is desired. • Familiarity with Rational Unified Process (RUP), UML, Object Oriented Programming (OOP), and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is desired.

Client is seeking Whitebox Manual Tester to work in their testing group. Need to have experience using White Box testing (system), Unix, Oracle Database, scripting and batch experience. Unix experience is important because they have about 100 batches that need regression. Ability to write SQL queries and complex joins is very important because they write a lot of queries in this environment. Need to have data integrity testing working with query analyzer. Must be able to think independently and get the job done. Must be a back end tester not gui. This is a 6 month to 12 month contract with the option to hire. This Online Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for testing assigned application functionality during system, integration, and regression testing phases utilizing best practices in software testing methodology. This individual will work closely with a Test Team Lead to communicate and resolve application issues. Requires experience testing Internet and distributed applications. Proficiency in testing web applications, web services, customer service and distribution center applications.
